Machinery Installation
In my machinery installation class, a team and I created and followed a print, drilled a baseplate, machined motor feet and poured concrete and grout. We aligned pump and motor shafts with both a dial indicator and laser alignment tool

01
Design a Print
Our first step was to measure our pump and motors, then design a print for the construction. We cut our baseplate, marked our holes and drilled them using a drill press.
02
Shaft Alignment
After poring the concrete base, we mounted our base plate, pored grout and installed the pump and motor. We used a dial indicator to check for soft foot, align the shafts, and then used a laser alignment tool to check out work. Once our alignment was complete we attached a coupling. We were also able to successfully run the pump and motor.

Conclusion
This was a very lengthy process and took a lot of hard work from myself and my team. We made some mistakes along the way, but with creative problem solving, we were able to overcome them. I would love to talk in depth with you about the process and what I learned!
